My kids are off learning archery in Arizona, and I kind of wish I was with them, but I also kind of do not. Do not get me wrong, I love my children dearly, and I always enjoy it when I get to participate in the things that they are doing. I serve as an assistant scoutmaster in my son’s troop, and I do what I can with my daughter in the girl scouts. However, it is also sometimes nice to have a break from watching over them all the time.

My wife’s parents retired to north of Phoenix, and that is where the kids are learning archery in Arizona. People at work joke they are on a Native American reservation learning there, but I find that culturally stereotypical. In fact, I have been particularly harsh on employees at work this week. Since the kids are on the other side of the country, I have a chance to finally close on a big project this week and intend to seal the deal.

It should make me a lot of money, and will hopefully help pay for them to go to college, even though that is many years from now.
